When Lydiate lost its first Post Office in Moss Lane a few years ago at was the Lib Dems who stood shoulder to shoulder with residents to fight the plans as indeed we did with the closures in Maghull at Station Road and the Meadows.

Sadly, Lydiate has been chosen again to lose a second and indeed its last Post Office. Again we stood up for local people and local services. Labour and the Tories were nowhere to be seen! The Coronation Road Post Office serves the whole of Lydiate and northern parts of Maghull. All those that use it will soon have to travel to the Square and queue up if Government gets it way.

"So just what is going on with the other two parties" asks Richard Clein the next Lib Dem MP for Sefton Central. "In fact it is all too clear, the Tories shut over 3,000 Post Offices when they were in Government and now Labour are simply following suit! No wonder they both kept their heads down, and said nothing. Don't they understand how Post Offices provide a lifeline to local communities?"
