Recent events have seen Sefton's Conservative Group being held to ridicule over their claims to be 'green'. The big Tory idea has been to propose under-sink waste food disposal units for properties across the Borough. In fact experts say that such units are not green and that they provide food for sewer rats!

Not content with that 'mistake' they start deselecting each other from standing for the Council. Having got rid of one long serving and well respected Conservative Councillor in (Crosby) Blundellsands Ward last year they have moved to try to rid themselves of another hugely respected Conservative Councillor in Southport's Dukes Ward. Both have been Mayors of the Borough and are held in high regard across the political spectrum. What's going on?

But, having started to embarrass themselves at every turn, it has become a way of life! In a move that has shocked many they have stood shoulder to shoulder with Labour opposing significant reductions in Sefton Council's senior management team leaving the Lib Dems as the sole voice on the Council fighting for a higher level of savings and a reduction in the burden on local Council tax payers.

You just could not make this up!

"Come on Mr. Cameron your Sefton lot are off message in a big way, you had better sort them out and quick is my advice" says Richard Clein the next Lib Dem MP for the new Sefton Central seat where it will be a straight fight between Tories and Lib Dems.
